Overview

Brand identity and digital presence for Kod Studio — a design studio specialising in digital products, interfaces, and brand systems. Built to communicate genuine technical depth with the warmth and clarity that defines how the team actually works with clients.

The challenge

Kod operates in a crowded market where every digital studio claims to do everything. The risk was invisibility — another well-executed portfolio site that says nothing memorable about how the team thinks or what they actually stand for. The identity needed to signal technical capability without burying the humanity underneath it.

The brief also had to resolve a genuine tension: studios that lead with craft often feel cold; studios that lead with personality often feel lightweight. Kod needed to hold both — rigorous enough to win complex briefs, warm enough to make working together feel worth it.

The approach

The wordmark was designed with the same discipline applied to the studio's product work — precise, constructed, legible at every scale. No decorative flourish. The letterforms carry weight without aggression, and the mark holds comfortably next to client work without competing with it.

The visual system uses a restrained palette and generous whitespace — letting the work lead rather than the brand. Typography is set with editorial care: the same attention to hierarchy, rhythm, and spacing that the studio brings to every client project is visible throughout every page of their own presence.

The site was built with the same technical stack Kod uses for client work — performance-first, detail-obsessed, and animated with the kind of restraint that only reads as effortless when it's been thought through completely. The whole thing is a working demonstration of the studio's capabilities without ever saying so directly.
